Outpatient Integrative Psychiatry APP FELLOWSHIP

A 12-Month Intensive Mentorship Program in Holistic Psychiatric Care

The Vijapura Difference: Modern psychiatry often rushes new providers into high-volume roles. We’ve built a physician-led, mentorship-driven fellowship designed to prioritize clinical depth over productivity. Train in an environment that values ethical, evidence-based, whole-health psychiatry.

Why this Fellowship?

We believe early-career APPs deserve the same structured teaching and protected training time that physicians receive. This program replaces the "trial by fire" approach with rigorous mentorship in:

Diagnostic Precision

We prioritize sophisticated clinical reasoning over high-volume quotas. You will learn to formulate complex cases and treat root causes rather than simply matching symptoms to drugs.

therapeutic alliance

We master the art of the patient-provider relationship as a core clinical tool. You will learn to build deep rapport and trust, ensuring that your clinical expertise is met with patient buy-in and shared decision-making.

Rational Psychopharmacology

We prioritize de-prescribing and polypharmacy reduction over "medication churn." Fellows master responsible controlled substance management and the strategic use of evidence-based supplements.

Whole-Health Integration

Our model blends brief psychotherapeutic principles with lifestyle and nutritional psychiatry. We treat the entire individual, focusing on long-term metabolic and mental wellness.

clinical Partnership

Practice with the confidence of rigorous training and real-time physician collaboration. Our fellows leverage expert supervision to deliver the highest quality care—exactly as the APP role was designed.

  • Small Cohort, Maximum Access

We accept only 1–2 fellows annually to ensure consistent, 1-on-1 mentorship with Dr. Vijapura.

  • Quality Over Quotas

We do not operate a "high-volume" model. You will have the time to focus on clinical depth, not just meeting RVU targets or seeing 4–5 patients per hour.

  • Private Practice Expertise

Gain exposure to the clinical and operational nuances of a physician-led private practice—without the pressures of private equity.

  • Career Pipeline:

We view this fellowship as an investment in the future of our practice. Our goal is to train the clinicians we want to work with for years to come.

The Transition

At the conclusion of the training year, exceptional fellows may be invited to transition into a permanent, senior clinical role.

The Commitment

For those invited to stay, we look for a minimum two-year commitment. This ensures the specialist-level skills you’ve mastered are fully realized within our model, providing professional stability for you and a gold standard of continuity for our patients.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for clinicians who are passionate about the "art" of psychiatry and dedicated to a whole-health approach.

    • We seek PMHNPs or PAs with 0–3 years of experience ready to transition from graduation to expert practice. We prioritize those seeking structured, high-level mentorship over a traditional high-volume role.

    •  Our fellows are dedicated to ethical prescribing, polypharmacy reduction, and evidence-based "whole-person" care. You should be passionate about precise diagnostics and treating root causes rather than just managing symptoms.

    • We value the humility of a lifelong learner who views medicine as a collaborative "team sport." You aim to master a model featuring physician oversight and a commitment to improvement long after the fellowship.

    • We prefer candidates currently in Northeast Florida or those eager to make our coastal community their long-term home. This is a career-launching partnership for clinicians looking to grow deep roots in the Jacksonville area.

Compensation & Support

  • Competitive training salary + CME support

  • Protected mentorship time and a gradual productivity ramp

If you are seeking in depth, mentorship, and ethical outpatient psychiatric training — we invite you to apply.
